Ceiling Fan Peripheral Vision

I occasionally have this flickering in my peripheral vision that is just like the shadow that a ceiling fan with a light on it throws on the ceiling.

Ceiling fan peripheral vision. Does anyone else see flickering in their peripheral vision. I also have static look on the periphery of my vision on the entire right half of my left eye toward my nose. Then when i look in the way of the shimmering it usually stops. Mostly when going to a dark room from light or vice versa.

It is something like viewing things through a rotating fan blade which would be revolving about 150 rpm. What do you mean by ceiling fan effect. I m not going insane i think out of the corner of my right eye i can see something that appears to be a spinning color blob my mind registers it as a ceiling fan but when i look at it it moves and there s no reflective surface that could reflect it. I ll explain a little more just in case if you have an idea what s going on and need more information.

The thing is that sometimes my vision seems to vibrate a little mostly in my peripheral vision it seems to be happening mainly when coming from a dark area and entering a bright one but this isn t always the case. Some migraine patients get a dizzy or off balance sensation when riding in a car and seeing the scenery move by the car.

When my eyes are in this condition it is very difficult to read because i must slow my rate of comprehension while my brain makes out words behind the flashings. It s a medical emergency. Swirling lights interupt normal vision rspowell. Mainly artificial light would seem to shimmer a bit.

Sometimes it s just a blotch. Some patients notice this visual discomfort when walking down an aisle at a store and seeing objects moving in their peripheral vision. Sometimes its peripheral sometimes the effect is in a shape like a circle directly in my line of sight. It did look like ceiling fan flutter but in all corners of my vision.

I had laser for a retinal hole almost 3 weeks ago and i have a black blind spot 4 black dots but i don t see them all of the time.
